爸媽有一回告訴我，所有的戶外活動裡呀，他們最喜歡的就是到田裡工作了。
My parents once told me, of all the out-door activities, they like working in the farm the best.
** Of all the + 複數名詞, S + V是英文裡頭「在所有…之中」的用法，常與最高級形容詞或副詞連用，或用於強調句型，如：Of all the girls, she is the youngest.
他們倆老目前皆已退休，為了打發無聊退休生活，同時使得老來生活充實些，他們選擇投入於園藝工作，盡其所能地種出新鮮又美味的蔬果。此外，爸媽也覺得這樣也是讓他們調劑身心的一種好方法。他們之前買了塊地，在這塊農地上他們可以利用閒暇，恣意地揮灑汗水以種出豐富的作物。我曾經問過老爸老媽，「你們老是這麼辛苦地在田裡工作，又幾乎沒有啥空閒讓自己好好休息一下，不會覺得很累嗎？」媽總是笑著回應，「嗯，我們不累呀，種東西是我跟你老爸的興趣。」
Both my dad and mom are retired. In order to kill their boring retired lives as well as have the rest of their old-age lives enriched, they chose to devote themselves to working on their green fingers and trying their best to grow as many fresh and delicious fruits and vegetable as possible. In addition, they regard this as a good way to enliven the body and mind. They bought a piece of land on which they are able to sweat out their leisure time and bring out abundant crops. I once asked them, “You guys from time to time work so hard and barely have spare moments to take a break. Don’t you feel exhausted?” Mom always replies with smile, “Well, we don’t feel tired; instead, we quite enjoy planting stuff.”
** devote to(致力於~~獻身於~~)後方的動詞要用Ving喔.
其實，我很開心他們倆佬找到了生活的目標，而且將它經營得很好。不過，我偶爾還是會擔心他們是否能負荷這種既要種東西，又常得把蔬果拿去賣的繁重工作（我們家的蔬果不是只有自用喔，爸媽每天都會些去傳統市場賣的）；為了種好蔬果並賣得好價錢，他們常都要早睡早起並不時辛勤地用心於農務。我現在就覺得，只要他們真的樂在其中目前的生活與工作，我就會替他們感到開心，並備感驗傲地全力支持他們。但還是會要求他們多注意自己的健康啦，畢竟他們年紀也一大把了。
I actually am glad that they’ve found their target of life and gone all out to well manage it. Still, I’m sometimes worried about whether they can be burdened with such a heavy task of being a farmer and a seller (they not only grow the greens for our own consumption but bring some to the local market for sale every day), for achieving which they need to keep early hours and painstakingly take care of their crops oftentimes. I now realized that as long as they are truly fond of what they are engaged in, I will feel happy for them and fully support them with great pride. But I will still give earnest exhortation to them on paying attention to their health; after all, they are not young anymore.
現在我不住在家裡了，在異地工作，不過只要有我喜愛的蔬果成熟，爸媽就會告訴我要回家來品嚐他們的成果，像是：兒子呀，西瓜可以吃了，有空回來和我們一起吃西瓜。或是：兒子呀，等你下次回家的時侯，就有好吃的玉米可以吃了喔！這些話真的就感心說。每次我回家時，我就會讓老媽不要下廚啦，讓我來煮你們種的這些菜。爸都偷偷告訴我，其實我煮的比媽來得好吃，因為我比較會變化菜色。我告訴老爸，不要讓媽聽到，否則下回你沒飯吃了，哈哈~
Currently I’m away from home because of my job, but whenever there are my favorite vegetable or fruits ripe to be harvested, Dad or Mom would tell me and ask me to go home to taste their results, such as “Son, our watermelons are ripe. Come home and eat with us.” or “Son, on your next return, it’s the right time that you can eat our delicious corns”. What sweet words from them, touching and moving. Well, every time I go home, I try to stop my mom’s kitchen work and insist on my cooking for them with the vegetable they’ve planted. Dad has told me many times behind Mon that my dishes are far better than my mom because I know more different recipes. I then told Dad that don’t let this be overheard by Mom or she will refuse to cook for you. LOL~
下面我們一起來瞧瞧我家的菜田，爸媽種的東西多到不像樣，會依時節種不同的東西，有很多下圖沒有看到的，像是花生、西瓜、南瓜…等等，因為目前這個節令不適合種，其它季節再種，所以沒有將照放上來。
Let’s have a look at my family farm, on which things raised are uncountable. Many of the vegetables and fruits are grown in different seasons. Some other greens not shown below such as peanuts, watermelons, pumpkins, etc. are not actually uitable to be planted in the current season, so they are not presented here.
