二度回到墨爾本 Second flight to Melbourne－luosteve的部落格

又回來墨爾本了。

I am back to Melbourne again.

記得上一次飛墨爾本，同時也是我首次飛澳洲班，是我加入魚翅後的第五趟航班，距今大約有半年囉。那時和台灣同學Jennifer一起飛，我們當時相當興奮，一起到處走走，參加市區巴士觀光，真是難忘。

It has been more than half an year since the last time I flew to Melbourne , my fifth flight after I joined CX and also the first Australia flight I operated. That was when I worked with my Taiwanese classmate—Jennifer, had a lot of fun with her in this beautiful outport, and joined the city bus tour to see what Melbourne looks like. That indeed is an unforgettable experience.

因為有上一回還不賴的墨爾本，再加上它的Allowance還ok，所以這個月也就把我的黃金台北過夜班—450加G給換成四天的MEL囉。

Since my last Melbourne flight was an ok one and MEL’s decent allowance has become another addition to me, I decided to swap the so-called GOLDEN Taipei overnight flight—CX450 for the 4-day MEL in this month.

哈，不過這一趟MEL可不像想像中的平順喔。這次的班不但碰到傳說中的「十大」之一(一名傳說中名字是F開頭的男ISM)，再加上好多乘客都不好搞，所以這班出奇的累，因為ISM對我們的要求可以說是「鉅細靡遺」且又非常雜念，使得我們的service都快不起來。不少客人又要求很多，從起飛到下機之間所按的服務鈴數也數不清，讓大伙可以好好坐下來休息的時間變少。有一位日本的同事甚至對我說，「I think next time I will not swap for this flight(我想下次我不會再換這班來飛了)」。不過我想這是運氣的問題，我上一趟MEL就是一整個順到不行的。

Well, who knows this MEL flight I operated three days ago turned out to be the one far below my expectation. Not only did I have to work with one of the “legendary” TOP 10s (a male ISM whose name begins with an F), but many of the passengers were so troublesome and difficult to handle as well. I felt totally worn out during and after the flight because the requirements the ISM asked us to abide by were so detailed and he liked to chatter endlessly in-flight, which slowed down out service in many ways; moreover, passengers’ requests were so plenty that their uncountable call buttons kept us busy all the time from take-off to landing. They really got on my nerves. The other crew and I barely had enough time to sit down for a rest. One Japanese crew even told me that “I think next time I will not swap for this flight”, which clearly explained that this flight was not easy. But I think this is nothing but the matter of our lucks. My last MEL flight was different than this one, smooth and comfortable.

第二次來到墨爾本對我來說並沒有想要再深入探索或深度旅遊的計劃。其實我會swap這班主要是來賺錢的。因為它的飛行時數高，再加上外站津貼不少，所以到了MEL，我大部份時間是待在飯店裡看看書和電視什麼的。不過第一天的晚上我到是有和這次一起飛的日本仔Kazu San及Tsuyoshi San一起去吃晚餐，享用美味的義大利料理，然後又到酒吧喝個小酒。

I did not have any intention to explore more in Melbourne for the second time here. Frankly speaking, the main reason why I swapped for this flight was money-making oriented due to the fact that I could gain lots of block hours and satisfactory allowance. So, over the past two-day stay in Melbourne, I spent most of my time in the hotel reading my favorite books and watching TV, except for the first night when I ate out for dinner in a nearby Italian restaurant and had some drinks in a bar with two Japanese co-workers—Kazu San and Tsuyoshi San.

對於這趟班，我想要說的是~~非常感謝我的阿姐，因為她人超級nice，幫了我們這群BC粉多忙(因為34B經濟艙只有一個Galley，所以要帶四個孩子，辛苦她了)。感謝Kazu和Tsuyoshi，謝謝你們兩位仁兄陪我到處逛。還有，感恩ISM。雖然你很雜念，debriefing及briefing就像阿婆的裸腳布一樣又臭又長，但您真誠對我們的建議和在機上給予我們的協助的確對整趟航班的服務品質有很大的提升，也讓我們學到不少正確的服務準則。再怎麼不受歡迎，也有其可取之處，不是嗎?

For this flight, I would like to say~~I am very much thankful for my section leader. She was so nice that she helped us BCs out (because there is only one Galley in 34B’s YCL, she couldn’t but take care of us 4 “kids” in-flight). What’s more, I need to say thank you for Kazu and Tsuyoshi because they accompanied me to enjoy delicious dinner and drinks. Last but not least, I really appreciate it to have a “famous” ISM in this flight. Despite of our ISM’s long-winded and yawning debriefing and briefing, his sincere service suggestions and assistance to us during the flight did help a lot in promoting the service quality and giving us a lot of ideas on proper service guidelines. Every cloud has a silver lining, isn't it?
