Last week, I made my virgin flight to Paris, exploring the legendary ROMANTIC wonderland.
I fell in love with Paris flight the first time I operated it. This should be attributed to, in addition to the incredible allowance the company prepares for us crew, the friendly and well-behaved passengers in-flight and the laidback, leisurely-pacing lifestyle of Paris .
A number of surprises could be found in this flight, the sudden switch of my position from Y4 to Y2 during the briefing before the flight surely born the brunt of which. Jesus Christ! I have not been arranged to any Y 2 in Boing 747 after the conversion training, and among my other classmates I may be the first one to set such a new example. Actually, Y5 (the right 5th door) or Y6 (the left 5th door) or even Y4 (the left fifth door) are the common positions we new crew may be assigned for aircrafts with 10 main-deck doors. But, it was beyond my expectation that I turned out to be a Y2 (the left 3rd door) person even though the crew member swapping with me for Y4 position was senior than I.
Fine. Despite the fact that I was not familiar with tasks of Y2 (I should share the galley and compartments with Business Class) and was of course no time to brush up with related work details, I could ask over doing my jobs as a Y2 crew. Fortunately, my section leader was a nice superior, kindly instructing me on anything I was not quite sure about and thus making a good impression on me. However, thanks to this wonderful Y2 experience, I finally became known of most of the jobs of Y2 and aware that Y2 is easier to be handled than any other position in Jumbo aircrafts.
On this CDG (CX261) flight, I flew with my classmate Bencent and one of IND3 colleagues—Laura. Flying with acquaintances can always help escape from boredom. In Paris, I met with the other classmate—Adam, who operated the 263 flight (a better flight than mine, more allowance and longer stay). Well, he just landed one hour or so ahead of me. Having made an appointment with him before our departure to Paris , I took the 2:30p.m. hotel shuttle bus with Adam to hang out in downtown.
I was nothing but a lazy man. Knowing that Adam was well-prepared for our journey in Paris, I spent little time planning our itinerary and just followed what Adam had arranged. In fact, Adam s college graduation trip to Paris added a lot to make our journey a smooth one. With his previous experience in Paris, Adam was not a stranger in terms of some must-visit spots and transportations; as a result, we did not get lost. We visited the renowned department store—Lafayatte, home to numerous famous brands and favored by those brand-name lovers. There were also fine stores and best-kept secrets in the vicinity where put us in the poor house. Sigh! Initially, I planned to save most of the allowance. Who knows I changed my mind when walking on the streets of Paris. Haha~
In the evening, we tried out some pubs to feel the night life in France . On entering the one we liked, we ordered some palatable cocktails and shared our recent lives. Hmm, nice night.
Adam and I began our own plans on the morrow. With a map and the subway information offered by the hotel, I set out my Paris exploration. Though a bit complicated and intricate, the Paris subway system will not make one feel lost as long as he or she can follow the guides shown on each route on the map. Besides, MOUTH can always serve as an ideal map. I can ask when it is necessary. It is rumored that because of the War between Britain and France, French avoid learning English and put on more airs than the British, but in fact, according to my experience, many French were friendly and were able to use OK English to communicate with me whenever I asked them for directions.
As with the MRT system in Taiwan, the subway system in Paris is very convenient to get to any place you desire, and the distance between tow linking stops is short enough that one can even easily travel from one to the other on foot. This day, I visited the blocks around the stop of Motte Picquet Grenelle, strongly recommended by a Japanese senior purser—Miss Jukue, in which nice shops are located and where I tried delicious French food. What’s more, I also paid a visit to the world-famous museum—Musée du Louvre. It has a great collection of more than 400,000 artistic productions, and Mona Lisa makes the list of the most popular one.
Finally, my visit to the famous French landmark—Tour Effel made a wonderful ending of the journey of the day. Tour Effel is the attraction you cannot miss. There is always a huge crowd swarming here just for a glance of the beauty and splendor of the tower. I also spotted and was hotly solicited by some Indian hawkers, carrying bunches of souvenirs such as Tour Effel key chains and peddling around. What an interesting scene! Well, I was not quite into crowding with the fanatical visitors there. Instead, I prefer aiming my camera at beautiful sights of the Tower and Seine River and enjoying the breeze while sauntering the zone of Tour Effel. Oh, this was so carefree~

On the streets of Paris, many of these special trash cans, only topped with trash bags, can be widely seen. Looks like a smart design.
