The last part of the blog about my FRA flight, the Hotel, is finally finished. I was busy and tired the other day, handling a number of personal affairs and having difficulty updating my blog. But now, things are all over and I am able to calm down to interact with you guys.

** to have difficulty / a hard time / troubles / problems + Ving Steven has difficulty / a hard time / trouble / problems sitting for a long time because he has pain in his lower back.

In Frankfurt , the crews of my company are accommodated in a hotel just next to River Rhine. This hotel’s really got the high-class things going on. It integrates the historic 19th-century building Fort Malakoff into its innovative design, and both of its interior and exterior give off a luxurious and classic air. So, not only can I enjoy the scenic, picturesque views while walking along the riverside, but I may indulge myself with the comfortable environment and facilities in the hotel.

**…is (really) got … going on這個用法是真的是有夠的意思,如:Steven is really got the retro things going on:Steven真的是有夠復古的啦!

** not only…but (also)not only…but…as well是「不但而且」的用法。通常是S + V not only ~, but (also) V這種形式,但如果Not only擺句首時,緊接著Not only的動詞要像上頭最後一句一樣,用倒裝喔!如:Steven can not only play basketball, but can (also) play tennis. = Steven can not only play basketball, but can play tennis aswell. = Not only can Steven play basketball, but can play tennis.

You know what, during my stay in the hotel, a very funny and embarrassing event happened to me. Let me tell you this, and it’s definitely a good one.

I get too attached to the facilities in the sauna or spa center of every out-port hotel (saunas, steam rooms, and Jacuzzis in particular), because they provide perfect relaxation for body and mind after a busy day, helping me temporarily get rid of stress and worries. “Such a nice hotel must be equipped with a very good health center, so I might as well give it a shot,” I figured.

** …may/might as well + V ~是不妨、最好的用法。

Like the sauna or spa centers in most of the hotels around the world, the one of this hotel requires visitors to be “in the buff” when using sauna, steam room or Jacuzzi, or with a piece of towel covered your lower body if you really feel ill at ease. This time, when I entered the center, wow, I felt great because it’s only I myself there. Nakedly, I took a shower first as usual (different from other hotels’ sauna center where private shower rooms or spaces are provided, there are only showerheads lined up on the wall in this one, just like in the military base you know) before I charged at the sauna. In the sauna, of course I did not wear anything and I used my towel as a pillow, closing my eyes and lying on one of the wooden step, totally surrendering myself to the comfort.

A while later, I heard somebody coming in and taking a shower out there. Naturally, I did not have any second thought because you know it’s a man’s place and just continued to “sleep” on the wooden step with my eyes closed. I then heard the person entering the sauna room in which I was being enjoying myself. When the person uttered “hello”, I got shocked and opened my eyes instantly. Holy crap~that was a “she”. A nude woman with nothing covered smiled and said greeting to me, then leisurely moved to another wooden step, and lied herself there. All of a sudden, the story about Adam and Eve came across my mind. I slowly got up and used the towel to kind of cover my private part and then I reflected, “did I came to the wrong place? No way!” I left the sauna room and rushed to the entrance to see if I made any mistake. Well, I surely did follow the sign to get to the male changing room and came to the sauna center directly from the right way. When I saw another guy went in, I realized that the sauna center was a “co-share” one. Thanks God I did not make a fool of myself. I kept on my stay in the center for a litter but just felt it a bit weird because they, both men and women, were really naked from time to time. And I, well, just got a towel at hand when I hung around in there. I think they might definitely consider me as a “foreigner”.

After this event, I told this story to one of my German friends. I then realized that this co-share is a common culture in many spa or sauna centers or even in many public out-door rest areas in Germany . Wow, what a special experience.
