等了快兩年，公司總算再次給我法蘭克福班啦。因為此趟飛行真的是太有心得了，所以我分成「風景篇」、「美食篇」、以及「飯店篇」這三段和大家報告。  
Having had waited for nearly two years, I was rostered the Frankfurt flight again. Since this flight gave me so many impressive memories, I am dividing the blog about my Journey to Frankfurt into three parts-“the Scenery”, “the Foods”, and “the Hotel”.  

 

其實一年多前，公司第一次給我法蘭克福班時，由於利益薰心，不假思索地將之換成法國班（因為法國班是所有我們家航班的超級黃金班，外站津貼最多），但之後聽到很多組員說德國法蘭克福多舒服多值得一去時才覺得後悔。  

Frankly speaking, when I was rostered the Frankfurt flight for the first time more than a year ago, due to the Paris flight’s relatively higher allowance and its golden reputation, I swapped for Paris flight without a second thought. However, I then regretted for what I had done after I heard how the FRA flight was cheerfully hailed by a number of crew.  

 

當從二月中的班表上看到三月有法蘭克福班時真的是開心到爆，一定要好好去體驗它那傳說中超讚的飯店、美麗的風景、以及嘉年華活動（三月中恰巧是法蘭克福Cologne嘉年華結束，粉開心剛好可以趕得上）  

I felt extremely happy that I would have a chance to fly to Frankfurt last month when my roster of March came out. “I’ve gotta explore the reputed awesome hotel, beautiful scenery, and the carnival (the middle of March happens to be the end of Cologne Carnival~~so glad that I could attend in the flesh)”, I told myself.  

 

飯店就在萊茵河旁，沿著萊茵河岸走著可以感受到無比的舒暢。人行步道兩旁的美麗花草樹木、那藍得澈底無染的天空、美麗的晚霞和晨曦…天哪，好像來到仙境喔！光是在河岸的小徑上散步就如同漫步在雲端般的享受。帶著我的大老婆，趁夜幕初臨以及曙光乍現時趕快將美景補捉下來。  

The hotel I stay is located on the banks of River Rhine, alongside which are lovely flowers, bushes, and trees. Non-polluted crystal-clear blue sky, charming views of sunset and sunrise can also be found here. I felt like I found myself in the midst of a wonderland. Simply taking a stroll on the river bank makes one feel as if he or she was walking in the clouds. In order to capture the great moments at dusk and dawn, my favorite “Pride and Joy” did play a major part.  

** 第一句…, alongside which are… = …, and alongside the banks are…。因為此句沒有連接詞and連接，所以介詞alongside後方得接個關係代名詞which取代前方的先詞詞「the banks」以連接之後的句子。 
 

** 這段裡頭有提到「大老婆」，我是指我的相機EX1啦。但在英文中若用Big Wife這樣字面翻會很怪，老外可能會直覺想到是「最大的老婆」、或是「體積很大的太太」。而我們中文裡的「大老婆」在這裡卻有種最愛不釋手且頭一個想到會使用的東西，以「Pride and Joy」（珍寶、最值得驕傲之物）這一詞再適合也不過了。









 

從萊茵河向下走，就可以到Mainz Altstadt，就是所謂的舊城區。舊城區有許多風格不一的古蹟建築；當中不乏是知名的教堂，如：the Dom、St Ignaz、和 St-Stephan。Augustinerstrasse是舊城區最美的街道，街道上聚集著咖啡廳、餐廳、紀念品店、酒吧等。 

Walking down the river, you are brought into the area of Mainz Altstadt, the Old Town . The Old Town has many nice historic buildings in different styles. There are famous churches such as the Dom, St Ignaz, and St-Stephan. Augustinerstrasse is the most beautiful street in the Old Town , where café places, restaurants, souvenir shops, bars, etc. are gathered. 





這次真的很幸運可以趕得及體驗Cologne嘉年華會，它是歐洲最大的街頭派隊活動之一。在嘉年華會期間，Altstadt舊城區則搖身成為一個五花八門和多彩的慶祝盛地，觀光客們可目賭人群高聲歌唱、跳舞、和穿著奇裝異服，真是有趣呀！  

I was so lucky enough to be just in time to experience the Cologne Carnival, one of the biggest street parties in Europe . During the Carnival season, Altstadt is transformed into a dazzling and colorful celebration, where visitors will see throngs of spectators singing, dancing, and decked out in brilliantly colored fancy dress costumes. So interesting.
